316 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02116
Number 316 Beacon Street is a condominium association comprising five residences. Unit B-1 occupies the garden level and provides 1,330sf of living space on one floor. The building has an elegant entry with rich dark wood paneling including its barrel-vaulted ceiling. The common entrance hall has a grand staircase and elevator to the upper floors. Owners of Unit B-1 can enter through the common entrance or their own private front door. Upon entering this home, the quality of the renovation by Lee Kimball is quite apparent. A considerable amount of time was spent creating a design which maximized the use of space and in-unit storage possibilities (there is also a separate storage closet outside the unit). The careful selection of quality materials is evident. The gut renovation allowed many of the ceiling heights to be raised and ducts to be run to the exterior for the range hood and clothes drier vent. Behind these successfully implemented design elements, the home’s systems were replaced and smart home technology was incorporated into the home’s operations.
